SILVER NEIGHBORS

Our Silver Neighbors program empowers older adults to make better choices about their finances. Trained volunteer peer ambassadors travel to community sites such as senior centers, churches and housing developments to educate seniors about topics such as scams and fraud, Medicare, life insurance products, budgeting and benefits.

These learning circles help seniors better understand their financial circumstances and become more knowledgeable about the services available to them in the community.

Silver Neighbors in the past has been supported by Kemmons Wilson Family Foundation, along with the Area Agency on Aging of the Mid-South, serving 1300+ seniors each year and staffed by Ambassadors who are trained to facilitate learning circles. This is a growing need and funds are limited at this time for expansion.

TO QUALIFY:

Silver Neighbors programming is free and available to senior citizens who reside in Memphis and Shelby County.
