Save Up
Save Up is a program for employed Memphis and Shelby County residents who live in public housing, are Section 8 voucher holders or are Earned Income Tax (EITC) eligible. Save Up combines financial education and Individual Development Accounts (matched savings accounts) to help people take the first step to wealth creation.
Self-sufficiency is accomplished when participants learn the skills necessary to transition from public housing. Wealth creation begins when participants acquire, what is for most, their first asset. Once enrolled in Save Up, within an average of 18 months participants are ready to purchase a home or car, or pay for higher education or job training, or busines start-up. RISE raises and provides the match funding that becomes available once participants have reached their individual savings goals.
