How We Help
Goal Card
When students play their GOAL CARDS right, they’re rewarded for learning.
The Goal Card originated in our IP Village program, and focuses on elementary, middle and high school students in areas with the highest concentration of low-income families. Incentive-based, the program requires goal setting and improvements in grades, conduct and attendance. Students earn points for reaching their goals redeemable for rewards every nine-week grading period, or they can bank them for even bigger rewards.
Since it began in three schools in 2003, elementary and middle school participants have outperformed their peers, and participants in the high school companion program, Choices or Chances, have a 100% graduation rate.
And 100% of them are going on to higher education.
What’s up with RISE:
• More than 200 students in three schools are participating.
• Choices or Chances motivates high-risk high school students to assume responsibility.
• Goal Card incentives include gift cards, small electronic items and toys for children.
