From the Chairman

10 Years!

RISE recently celebrated its 10th anniversary. In those ten years, we have come from humble beginnings to grow into a vibrant, respected non-profit specializing in results. We have had the privilege of helping hundreds of Memphis and Shelby County families build and sustain assets (totally more than $5 million and counting!) by making smarter choices with their money. We have trained hundreds of company employees in basic money management skills and mentored students as they navigate their way through high school, on to post-secondary education. We have been a leading advocate for changing the landscape of predatory lending and usurious financial services in Tennessee.

Thanks to a wonderful staff and support from the community, RISE has accomplished a great deal in just a decade. Our core belief that “Knowledge + Incentives = Results” is a very powerful equation that has led to positive change in our program participants and community, but there is still much work to be done.
